Alan's style of painting is a combination of the old master's techniques with a contemporary twist. The technique consists of a blond-like under painting and an over painting that consists of 30+ breath like thin layers of both color and white glazes. Scumbling is used when needed. No more than five colors are used for each painting; three primary colors (red, blue, and yellow) and two shades of brown.
